Frequently asked questions
βΈWhat data skills are expected in Grade 2?
Reading and building simple records of up to four categories, totalling them, and answering comparison questions β how many in each category, how many in all, and which categories are larger or smaller than a given amount.
βΈWhat is the difference between the Grade 1 and Grade 2 sheets?
Grade 1 uses three categories with counts under ten; Grade 2 uses four categories with counts up to about eighteen, and adds Sort by Size, which asks how many categories fall above or below a number.
βΈDo these sheets include tally charts?
No. A proper tally uses the five-bar gate, with a fifth stroke struck across four uprights, and that mark cannot be printed reliably in a PDF. Rather than print something that looks like a tally but counts differently, these sheets write the counts as numbers.
βΈHow many questions should a Grade 2 sheet have?
Ten is a good default and it is what the generator starts on. Use the stepper for anything from four to twenty, and Shuffle for a fresh set.
βΈCan I print the answers separately?
Yes. Tick the answer key box and the answers print on their own page, so the worksheet itself stays clean for the child.
