What each level generates

Grade 2 repeating patterns — the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.

  1. Level 1Two things take turns
  2. Level 2A core of three
  3. Level 3A gap inside the pattern

Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula — not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence →

Frequently asked questions

▸What number patterns should a Grade 2 student know?

Counting in steps of 2, 3 and 5 from zero, and in tens from any number, forwards and backwards — including sequences that do not start at zero. Most curricula treat this as the bridge into multiplication. Sequences whose jump changes from step to step (12, 14, 18, 24, 32) are not Grade 2 anywhere, so you will not find them on these sheets.

▸How do these worksheets help with multiplication later?

Skip-counting sequences are the times tables in disguise — counting by 5s is the 5× table in order. The top level of Continue the Sequence and of Name the Rule stays on the multiples for exactly that reason. Children who can continue these patterns fluently learn the facts much faster in Grade 3.

▸Does the worksheet come with an answer key?

Yes — tick the answer key box and a numbered key prints on a separate final page, so you can keep it aside or cut it off while your child works.

▸Can I print the same worksheet for the whole class?

Yes. The link stores the exact worksheet, so sharing it gives every student identical problems. Shuffle creates a new set at the same settings when you want variants.

▸What paper sizes are supported?

A4 and US Letter — pick either in the controls and both the preview and the PDF reflow to that exact size.
