What each level generates

Grade 4 read a record β€” the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.

  1. Level 1Find one value
  2. Level 2Most and least chosen
  3. Level 3Count the even ones

Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula β€” not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence β†’

More Grade 4 data handling skills

Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.

Frequently asked questions

β–ΈWhat data work is expected in Grade 4?

Solving comparison, sum and difference problems from information presented in tables and records. These sheets cover that with five-category written records, two-step totals, and questions that use a survey total to recover an entry that is missing.

β–ΈHow is this different from the Grade 3 sheets?

Records go from four categories to five, counts roughly double, and The Missing Entry adds a question that cannot be answered by reading forwards at all β€” the answer is not on the page until the child works it out.

β–ΈAre line graphs or bar charts included?

No. Every question is answered from a written record. Drawing and reading graphs is a separate skill needing a printed grid, and these sheets deliberately do not claim it.

β–ΈHow long should a Grade 4 data sheet take?

Ten questions is usually fifteen to twenty minutes at this grade, because the totals are worth writing down. Drop the count to six for a warm-up.

β–ΈDoes the same link give the same sheet?

Yes. The link in your address bar reproduces the identical worksheet exactly, which is what makes it usable for a fair re-test a fortnight later.
