Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.

Frequently asked questions

β–ΈWhat is unit price and how is it taught in Grade 4?

Unit price is the cost of a single item, found by dividing a pack total by the number in the pack. A pack of six at $10.50 gives a unit price of $1.75. The Unit Price sheet generates exactly that calculation at its first level, always with an exact answer.

β–ΈHow do you solve a two-step money problem?

Work out each part separately and write the subtotal down before combining. For four items at $3.20 and three at $1.15, that is $12.80 and $3.45, giving $16.25. The Two items in quantity level of Buying Several Items drills that structure on every question.

β–ΈHow do you compare two pack sizes for best value?

Divide each pack total by the number of items to get two unit prices, then compare them. The Better value pack level of Unit Price asks how much less one item costs in the cheaper pack, so a student has to finish the comparison rather than just point at it.

β–ΈAre the divisions always exact?

Yes. Every pack total is built by multiplying a whole-cent unit price by the pack size, so dividing back out always lands on an exact amount. No question on these sheets produces a rounded or recurring answer.
