Frequently asked questions
βΈWhat does Grade 5 data handling cover here?
Reading and interpreting larger records of five categories, using a survey total to recover one or two missing entries, and comparing categories β including finding which pair sits a given distance apart.
βΈWhy is there no line plot or line graph?
Both need a printed and labelled scale to read against. These sheets are written records only, so rather than approximate a graph in words they leave that skill to a page that can actually draw one.
βΈHow big do the numbers get at this grade?
Individual categories reach around 240 and a survey total can pass a thousand, so the addition is real work. That is intentional β recovering a missing entry from a four-figure total is where careless bookkeeping shows up.
βΈIs Compare Categories just subtraction again?
The first level is a subtraction over a record. The second needs the record ordered first, and the third gives the answer and asks which pair produces it, which has no single procedure at all.
βΈCan I choose how many questions to print?
Yes, anywhere from four to twenty. With totals this size, six to ten is usually a full session.
