What each level generates

Grade 5 ordering numbers β€” the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.

Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.

Frequently asked questions

β–ΈWhat place value does Grade 5 cover?

Grade 5 works with whole numbers into the millions and with decimals to hundredths. Digits and Places and Value of a Digit cover the millions; every other sheet at this grade works in decimals, naming places, writing expanded form and words, and comparing and ordering.

β–ΈWhich place value sheets does Grade 5 have?

Seven, printed separately. Digits and Places and Value of a Digit work in seven-digit whole numbers. Decimal Place Value names the tenths and hundredths columns and asks what a decimal digit is worth. Expanded Form, Number Words, Comparing Numbers and Ordering Numbers all work in decimals at this grade. Each sheet carries its own three levels.

β–ΈWhich is bigger, 4.7 or 4.68?

4.7. Compare place by place after the decimal point: seven tenths beats six tenths, so the hundredths digit never matters. Writing 4.7 as 4.70 makes the comparison obvious and is a good habit to teach.

β–ΈHow do you write a decimal in expanded form?

Write what each digit is worth and join the terms with plus signs: 47.85 becomes 40 + 7 + 0.8 + 0.05. The decimal digits keep their place value, so the 5 is written as 0.05, not as 5.
