What each level generates

Grade 6 decimals & fractions — the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.

  1. Level 1Fractions into decimals
  2. Level 2Decimals into fractions
  3. Level 3Both ways, harder numbers

Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula — not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence →

Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.

Frequently asked questions

▸What decimal work is covered in Grade 6?

Multiplying a decimal by a whole number, multiplying two decimals together, and dividing decimals by whole numbers and by decimals — four separate sheets, in that order of difficulty. Every arithmetic answer terminates exactly.

▸How do you multiply two decimals?

Multiply as if there were no decimal points, then count the total decimal places in the two factors and put that many into the answer. 34.6 × 0.7 gives 346 × 7 = 2422, then two places back: 24.22.

▸How do you divide by a decimal such as 0.6?

Scale both numbers by the same power of ten until the divisor is a whole number, then divide normally. 2.4 ÷ 0.4 becomes 24 ÷ 4 = 6. Dividing by a Decimal is its own sheet; print a Dividing by a Whole Number sheet alongside it if you want students deciding each time which case they are looking at.

▸Do the answers ever need rounding?

Not on the arithmetic sheets. Every add, subtract, multiply and divide question is constructed so the exact result is a short, terminating decimal, which keeps self-checking honest and stops rounding disagreements between a student's page and the answer key. Rounding Decimals is the exception and the point — it asks for rounding to the nearest whole, tenth or hundredth on purpose.
