Frequently asked questions
βΈWhat fraction skills should a Grade 7 student have?
Multiplying and dividing fractions fluently and handling a mixed set where addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are jumbled together, always finishing in simplest form. The Multiplying Fractions, Dividing Fractions and Mixed Operations sheets build to exactly that, in that order.
βΈHow is dividing fractions taught on these sheets?
By the reciprocal method: keep the first fraction, change division to multiplication, and flip the second fraction. Every division problem is built so the simplified answer is exact, whether it lands on a whole number or an improper fraction.
βΈDoes the Mixed Operations sheet really combine all four operations?
From its second level, yes: each problem is randomly assigned +, β, Γ or Γ· with unlike denominators, so students have to identify the operation and pick the matching method before solving β the closest thing on the sheet to a real test question. Its first level keeps to addition and subtraction as a way in.
βΈAre division answers ever whole numbers or improper fractions?
Both can appear. Something like 1/2 Γ· 1/4 reduces to 2, while 3/4 Γ· 1/2 reduces to 3/2, shown as an improper fraction on the first two levels and as a mixed number on the third, where the prompts use mixed numbers too. Every result is given in lowest terms on the answer key.
βΈCan I make the exact same worksheet again for a re-test?
Yes β the web address stores your exact sheet, so bookmarking or sharing the link reproduces the identical problems and answer key. Use it to run the same timed check across a class or repeat it with one student weeks later.
