What each level generates

Grade 7 scale drawings and maps β€” the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.

  1. Level 1Plan to real length
  2. Level 2Real length to plan
  3. Level 3Work out the scale

Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula β€” not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence β†’

Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.

Frequently asked questions

β–ΈWhat is a proportional relationship?

Two quantities are proportional when their ratio is constant β€” double one and the other doubles. In a table the ratios are all equal, and on a graph the points form a straight line through the origin, described by the equation y = kx.

β–ΈHow do you find the constant of proportionality?

Divide one quantity by the other to get the unit rate, which is the constant k. If 3 kg cost 12 dollars, then k = 12 Γ· 3 = 4 dollars per kg. The Constant of Proportionality sub-skill here builds exactly this skill.

β–ΈHow is Grade 7 ratio work different from Grade 6?

Grade 6 introduces ratio language and unit rate; Grade 7 uses proportional relationships to reason further β€” identifying the constant of proportionality, writing y = kx equations, and solving multi-step percent problems. The Solving Proportions sub-skill steps up to finding an unknown value.

β–ΈCan I use these worksheets for percent, tax, and tip problems?

These sheets drill the underlying skills β€” solving proportions, scaling quantities, and the constant of proportionality β€” that make percent problems solvable. For dedicated percent, discount, and tax practice, use the Percentages topic, which is built for that.

β–ΈCan I make a version for a substitute teacher or a retest?

Yes. The shareable link reproduces the identical worksheet and answer key, so a substitute prints the exact sheet you planned. Press Shuffle instead for a fresh set at the same difficulty when you need a clean retest, and switch on the easy-read font if a student finds dense pages hard to track.
