What each level generates

Grade 2 addition stories β€” the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.

  1. Level 1How many altogether
  2. Level 2How many now
  3. Level 3Three amounts

Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula β€” not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence β†’

Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.

Frequently asked questions

β–ΈWhen do kids learn regrouping in addition?

Typically during Grade 2, after two-digit addition without carrying is secure. Work through the Add Without Regrouping page first, then switch to the Add With Regrouping page when no-carry sums are consistently correct β€” they are two separate skills here, not two stops on one slider.

β–ΈHow many two-digit problems make a good Grade 2 sheet?

10–12 is a solid session, or 8 when regrouping is brand new β€” each problem takes more thinking than a simple fact. Adjust with the question-count stepper.

β–ΈMy child keeps forgetting the carried one β€” what helps?

Shorter sheets, bigger print, and saying the carry out loud. Print at a large size with the easy-read font, and check answers together against the key page immediately so the error never gets rehearsed.

β–ΈCan I share a worksheet with another parent or my class?

Yes β€” send the link. It reproduces the exact same worksheet, problems in the same order, so everyone works from an identical sheet and one answer key fits all.

β–ΈWhat paper sizes are supported?

A4 and US Letter. Pick yours in the controls and both the on-screen preview and the downloaded PDF reflow to that exact paper size.
