Grade 2 Multiplication Worksheets β Free Printable PDF
Second grade is where multiplication starts to make sense as repeated addition β small groups, small factors, lots of wins. Grade 2 has three skills, each on its own page with its own three levels: Repeated Addition, which runs from Add the equal groups to Write it as a multiplication and finishes on The 2, 5 and 10 tables; Equal Groups and Arrays, which puts the same idea in words and keeps every array inside 5 rows by 5 columns; and Missing Factor. Adjust the settings below and the worksheet updates instantly; the PDF you download matches the preview exactly.

Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.
What each level generates
Grade 2 repeated addition β the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.
- Level 1Add the equal groups
- Level 2Write it as a multiplication
- Level 3The 2, 5 and 10 tables
Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula β not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence β
What Grade 2 multiplication should cover
Most Grade 2 curricula introduce multiplication as equal groups and arrays before any fact fluency is expected β commonly arrays of up to five rows and five columns, built by repeated addition, with recall of the 2, 5 and 10 tables. These pages stay inside that: two-digit multiplication and the harder tables belong to Grade 3 and Grade 4. Keep sessions short: 10β15 problems with small factors (0β5) beats a long mixed sheet.
Start on Repeated Addition for the first weeks: its first level, Add the equal groups, is still pure addition, and its second, Write it as a multiplication, asks for the same sheet written the new way. Move to Equal Groups and Arrays only after your child can explain what 3 Γ 4 means with counters or a drawing β fluency built on understanding sticks.
How to use these worksheets at home
Print two copies of the same worksheet (the link keeps the exact same problems) and race a parent β kids love beating a grown-up. The Shuffle button generates a fresh set at the same settings for tomorrow, so practice never repeats.
Tick the answer key box and the key prints on its own page, so you can cut it off or keep it aside.
Frequently asked questions
βΈIs multiplication taught in Grade 2?
Yes, as an introduction. Grade 2 focuses on equal groups, arrays, and repeated addition with small factors. Fast fact fluency is usually a Grade 3 goal, so keep Grade 2 practice gentle and visual.
βΈHow many problems should a Grade 2 worksheet have?
10β15 is plenty. Set the question count with the stepper β short, frequent practice builds more fluency than long occasional sheets.
βΈWhich times tables should a 7-year-old start with?
Start with Γ1, Γ2, Γ5, and Γ10 β they have obvious patterns. Every Grade 2 skill here keeps factors small while those patterns settle in; Repeated Addition builds from 2 to 6 equal groups. For table-by-table drill, the Times Tables worksheets open on the 2, 5 and 10 tables at this grade.
βΈCan I print the same worksheet again?
Yes. The web address stores your exact worksheet, so bookmarking or sharing the link reproduces the identical problems and answer key.
βΈIs this really free?
Completely. No account, no sign-up, no watermark. Generate as many worksheets as you like and print straight from the PDF.
