Frequently asked questions
βΈWhat word problems are taught in Grade 3?
Multiplication and division stories within 100 β equal groups, arrays, and sharing β plus two-step problems mixing operations. Equal Groups Stories, Sharing & Grouping Stories, Two-Step Stories and Two-Step Group Stories cover that whole span.
βΈHow many problems make a good Grade 3 session?
8β12. Story problems take longer than bare number facts, so a focused set beats a long one. Size the sheet with the question-count stepper.
βΈMy student knows their tables but fails word problems β why?
The missing skill is usually translating the story into an operation, not arithmetic. Practise saying what is happening ("equal groups of 6") before computing; the working space on each sheet is there for exactly that step.
βΈCan I give the whole class the same sheet?
Yes β share the link and every copy has identical problems, so marking is fast and results are comparable. Press Shuffle first if you want a different version for a second group.
βΈDoes the answer key show the working?
The key lists final answers, numbered to match the problems, and prints on its own separate page β easy to withhold while students work.
