What each level generates

Grade 5 dividing by a whole number — the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.

  1. Level 1Small divisors
  2. Level 2Larger divisors
  3. Level 3Missing number

Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula — not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence →

Frequently asked questions

▸What decimal skills are expected in Grade 5?

Adding and subtracting decimals to hundredths with confidence, handling numbers written to different numbers of places, and multiplying or dividing by 10 and 100. Adding Decimals, Subtracting Decimals and Multiplying & Dividing by 10 and 100 cover that sequence, each on its own sheet.

▸How do you add decimals with different numbers of places?

Line up the decimal points, write a zero in any empty place so both numbers have the same length, then add as usual. For 6.4 + 2.35, write 6.40 + 2.35 and the columns behave normally. The Carry across the point level of Adding Decimals drills exactly this case.

▸Does the decimal point move when you multiply by 10?

It is clearer to say the digits move and the point stays put. Multiplying by 10 shifts each digit one place to the left, so 3.47 becomes 34.7; dividing by 10 shifts them back the other way. Multiplying & Dividing by 10 and 100 practises both directions on the same sheet.

▸Can I print these Grade 5 decimal sheets without the answers?

Yes. The answer key is a tick box, and when it is on the answers always start on their own page, so you can hand out the questions and keep the key. The same link reproduces both whenever you need them.
