What each level generates

Grade 4 naming angles — the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.

  1. Level 1Acute, right or obtuse
  2. Level 2Straight and reflex angles too
  3. Level 3Work it out, then name it

Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula — not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence →

Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.

Frequently asked questions

▸What is the difference between area and perimeter?

Perimeter is the total distance around the outside of a shape and is measured in units such as cm. Area is how much surface the shape covers and is measured in square units such as cm². For a rectangle, perimeter is 2 × (length + width) and area is length × width.

▸How do you find the area of a rectangle in Grade 4?

Multiply the length by the width. A rectangle 8 cm long and 5 cm wide has an area of 8 × 5 = 40 cm². Area of Rectangles opens with small measurements so the focus stays on the idea, and its Larger measurements level raises them once the method is secure.

▸What are acute, right and obtuse angles?

An acute angle is smaller than 90°, a right angle is exactly 90°, and an obtuse angle is between 90° and 180°. Naming Angles draws the angle and asks which kind it is — unnumbered at the first two levels, so the judgement is made against the 90° benchmark by eye, before a protractor is ever picked up.

▸Can I print a Grade 4 geometry sheet without the answers?

Yes. Leave the answer key box unticked and the sheet prints as questions only. Tick it and the answers appear on their own page at the end, so you can hand out the questions and keep the key.
