Grade 4 Symmetry Worksheets
Count the lines of symmetry in a drawn shape and in capital letters, then finish half a pattern across a printed mirror line.
Every sheet below is generated fresh with a matching answer key. Pick one of the three levels, preview it, and print or download the PDF — no account, no watermark. For the other grade 4 geometry skills, see all geometry worksheets.

Grade 4 · 2 pages · A4What each level generates
Grade 4 symmetry — the exact skill behind each difficulty setting, straight from the generator.
- Level 1Lines of symmetry in a shape
- Level 2Symmetry in capital letters
- Level 3Complete a symmetric figure
Grade levels follow the progression common to most English-language curricula — not one specific national curriculum. Every level shows exactly what it generates, so you can check the fit with your own program. See the full scope & sequence →
More Grade 4 geometry skills
Each one generates a different kind of question, with its own three levels and answer key.
- PerimeterAdd up every side to find the distance all the way around a shape.
- Area of RectanglesMultiply length by width to find the space a rectangle covers.
- 2D Shape PropertiesName a flat shape from its sides, corners and angles — and back again.
- 3D SolidsCount the faces, edges and corners of solid shapes, and name them.
- Naming AnglesLook at a drawn angle and decide whether it is acute, right, obtuse, straight or reflex.
- CoordinatesRead, move and complete points on a printed coordinate grid.
Frequently asked questions
â–¸What is the difference between area and perimeter?
Perimeter is the total distance around the outside of a shape and is measured in units such as cm. Area is how much surface the shape covers and is measured in square units such as cm². For a rectangle, perimeter is 2 × (length + width) and area is length × width.
â–¸How do you find the area of a rectangle in Grade 4?
Multiply the length by the width. A rectangle 8 cm long and 5 cm wide has an area of 8 × 5 = 40 cm². Area of Rectangles opens with small measurements so the focus stays on the idea, and its Larger measurements level raises them once the method is secure.
â–¸What are acute, right and obtuse angles?
An acute angle is smaller than 90°, a right angle is exactly 90°, and an obtuse angle is between 90° and 180°. Naming Angles draws the angle and asks which kind it is — unnumbered at the first two levels, so the judgement is made against the 90° benchmark by eye, before a protractor is ever picked up.
â–¸Can I print a Grade 4 geometry sheet without the answers?
Yes. Leave the answer key box unticked and the sheet prints as questions only. Tick it and the answers appear on their own page at the end, so you can hand out the questions and keep the key.
